Daylight Savings Blows
Daylight savings time, really? All it does is mess up child’s med and sleep schedule, leaving us quite unhappy here, despite the plethora of candy.
Plus, my PalmPre’s calendar didn’t handle the change all that well. The time changed, my calendar times stayed the same, but somehow it thinks that even though something is listed at 7AM it means that I want it to ring at 6AM. I have a sinking feeling I have to tweak all reoccurring events in order to stop this from happening until the next daylight saving change.
Wasn’t there talk of getting rid of DST, since it isn’t necessary anymore? Is there a petition I can sign somewhere?
Is it just me or did anyone else have bumps in the road during the fall back?

I LOVE fall back!!!! Feels like I get to sleep later. Except that the cat is still on the old time, and she starts yowling for her breakfast when I still have an hour to sleep.
But mostly, I love fall back. It’s spring forward I hate.
However, I’d be happy to get rid of all of it. Arizona has it right!

Gus doesn’t get the concept at all…it’ll take him weeks.

Well, you know…it’s Gus…

This one isn’t the worst. Jumping ahead an hour kills me and our routine. :(

I like the later hour for sleeping, but I hate it at work. he first week kills me.
The dogs started bugging me at 4:00 yesterday to eat. This will make them crazy for a while. I worry about the little dog, if the big dog gets too hungry.
Also, I’ll be driving home in the dark from now on - yuck!

My animals were wanting to be fed at about 4pm, too! And my parrot, Elmo, was wanting his “playtime”, as well.
I *Hate* the time change, and though this one isn’t as rough on me and the critters as the one in the Spring, it still takes a few weeks to re-acclimate. Plus, like Lisa J, it’ll be dark when I drive into work, and dark when I get home. Good thing I like looking at the stars and moon on my drive!

I love to “Fall” back but I hate the “Spring” forward.
I think that there was some talk of getting rid of DST but I think that what the government settled on was getting rid of the additional length added by GW Bush’s administration.

Jessica, yes that drives me nuts too! All DST needs to go.
OMG - Lisa J, hide the little dog!!!
Heather - LOVE the parrot name - Elmo is my daughter’s favorite…
Maria, okay, so I’m not (too) crazy when I remember hearing we were getting rid of DST. We need to revisit that…

I love Fall Back… but honestly, this year it came out of nowhere for me and really screwed with me
I had a migraine, woke up from trying to nap in my car and my cell phone has one time (since it seemed to have changed time before midnight) while my car shows another (it has to be manually changed). I was so confused, lol

Oh, Ali, that’s the worst - you’re already all disoriented and then DST plays tricks.

I think Daylight Savings was one of Ben Franklin’s less stellar ideas. I hate it. I miss living in Arizona where we didn’t mess with all that nonsense.

Tori, I’m very jealous of Arizone right now…

I can’t stand either time change. Right now I’m battling to stay awake at night and to stay asleep in the morning. In the spring, I’ll be forcing myself into bed and dragging myself out of it. Bleh. If anyone finds a petition, I’ll sign it. Even if time change had a purpose once, it’s long since over.

I LOVE going back to ‘regular’ time during the fall–I sleep so much better and feel better. Feel more ‘normal’…I hate moving ahead an hour in spring, wish we could get rid of it.
